The House system is an important means of developing House spirit and, ultimately, School spirit. Each student will be encouraged and expected to participate enthusiastically in all House activities. Developing a sense of pride, belonging and commitment are important within the ethos and culture of St Columba.
Each House competes for the House Shield in Primary and Secondary. House activities of a sporting, cultural and academic nature will be organised throughout the year. Sometimes students will have House Meetings, led by their Heads of House, House Captains and House Teachers.

To support our service ethos, the School holds fundraisers throughout the year. These fundraisers, organised by the School Houses, support charities and organisations locally, across Australia and worldwide, which have significance and meaning to our School community.
Students are asked not to organise fundraisers or bring fundraising chocolates or other items for selling without prior permission from the Head of School.
