Before and After School Supervision
Teacher playground supervision commences from 8:20am each morning. Students arriving prior to this time are required to go to the Library until playground supervision commences at 8:20am. The School Library is available each morning from 7:30am to students in Kindergarten to Year 12 for quiet study or reading.
Primary School student supervision ceases at 3.45pm, and all students must be collected by 3.45pm from outside the Canteen or from the Kiss and Drop area. Students who have not been collected by 3.45pm, and are not registered for OSHC (Out of School Hours Care) will be escorted by teaching staff to the School Front Reception to await collection.
All Kindergarten to Year 6 students who are not being collected by parents or caregivers at the conclusion of the school day, or catching a bus after school, need to be registered for the School’s Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service.
The OSHC Service provides nutritious afternoon tea snacks prepared by the School's Canteen and served to the students on arrival. Kindergarten to Year 2 students will participate in the OSHC program and students in Years 3 to 6 have the option of engaging in an Active Kids program or Homework Help between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. Primary students not participating in OSHC Homework Help are not able to access the Library after school and parents will be called to collect children who are not registered with OSHC.
All families are encouraged to complete the Child Care Subsidy Assessment through myGov to find out what entitlements you can receive when accessing OSHC. Call the friendly staff at Columba Cottage on 6581 4433 if you would like to know more about the service.
There are two OSHC session options available for Primary students:
Full Session - care available until 6.00pm on days selected
$32 per permanent (prebooked) session; $34 per casual session*
Short Session - care until 4.30pm
$12 per session for permanent (prebooked) bookings; $13 per hour for casual bookings*
* Please note that all casual sessions need to be booked in by midday each day to ensure sufficient educators are available.
Most families will be eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) entitlements on their OSHC fees, and are encouraged to complete the Child Care Subsidy Assessment through myGov to find out what entitlements they may be eligible for when accessing OSHC. Generally, entitlements are around 85% of the session fee (capped at $10.29).
The OSHC service will offer the following after school options to families in 2019, some of which are short sessions and also a full session option.

Families wanting to utilise any of these options will be required to enrol their child for OSHC. OSHC registration forms are available from either the Columba Cottage or St Columba Anglican School Reception.
Please note that Kiss and Drop and bus line supervision ceases at 3.45pm each day and all students should be collected by that time. Primary School students will not be able to access the Library after school, and parents will be called to collect children who are not registered with the OSHC service.
